1875 Pro Guide

If you consider yourself a hardcore angler, you should consider Lund’s Pro Guide. Arguably the most versatile fishing boat on the market. The Pro Guide is set up to do it all perfectly. Amazing for forward trolling, back trolling, a spacious deck for target casting and incredible storage capabilities.

Many anglers consider the Pro Guide as a “walleye boat”, which, of course, it is. But it’s really an incredible multi-species rig.

Jeremy Smith of Angling Edge has been running a Pro Guide for years. Here are some of his thoughts on why it’s his favorite. “We spend a lot of time going to new locations to shoot content for Angling Edge. On these trips we might need gear for walleyes, lake trout, muskies and smallmouth. I can pack gear in my 1875 Pro Guide to do all of it.”

“The side rod locker can hold rods up to 9 feet, perfect for muskie rods or trolling combos. I’ll put rods in sleeves and pile 15 or more in the center compartment. There are enough other compartments to organize gear. I also have tackle boxes and a cooler in the front deck cut outs. This is sweet for packing extra tackle and extended casting deck space.”

“Having this storage layout makes it easy to take advantage of whatever is happening. It’s not like we have to head back to camp to change out gear and switch from lake trout to smallmouth. Everything is on board, and everything has a place.”

“I love casting and trolling, and I don’t know of another boat that can offer such high performance. If you’re forward-trolling, the precision a tiller provides is equivalent to handling a sports car in the auto world. This boat is so responsive and ideal for contour trolling.”

“For the casting, the bow is not high off the water, and the gunnels aren’t super high either, so it’s no problem to go flippin’ pads or figure 8 for muskies. Another slight modification I do with the boat is to add a cover to the splash well. This provides a bit more space in the back to cast.”

“A tip to offer anyone running an 1875 Pro Guide or looking at one is to upgrade the prop. I’ve tried a number of them over the years and hands down the best is the Mercury Spitfire X7, 4-blade in a 17 pitch. This prop gives you the best bow lift, top end, midrange, and grip. You can adjust the RPM’s to easily get under 2 mph.”

“The last thing I’ll add is how the 1875 Pro Guide is set up to accommodate all the electronics you’d expect to see in bigger boats.

It’s set up for a 36-volt trolling motor, room for a large starting battery and you can easily mount big screens to both the console and bow.
Built by fishermen for fishermen, Lund Boat’s Pro Guide is the ultimate tiller fishing boat designed by some of the most hardcore anglers in the Lund family.
