Hope in Uncertain Times

You know, the world today can feel like a pretty scary place.

We’re seeing things—globally, culturally, environmentally—that many of us have never experienced before. Wind. Water. Fire. Wars. Rumors of wars. You turn on the news at night, open a newspaper, scroll a headline feed—it’s everywhere. And without hope, that can be a tough world to live in.

What’s interesting to me is this: thousands of years ago, these things were already written about. Prophesied. Long before satellite imagery, global communication, or 24-hour news cycles, it was all in here—the Bible. So many prophecies fulfilled already that I don’t even know the count. You can look them up yourself. The evidence is there.

Now, I’m not here to be doom and gloom. Far from it. Because if you’re looking for hope, there’s one place—and one place only—where you’ll find it. And that’s right here in this book.

The Bible doesn’t just acknowledge the trouble in the world. It answers it. It tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And hope—real hope—is powerful. It steadies you. It grounds you. It gives you peace when everything around you feels uncertain.

I can tell you this personally: I’m confident where I’m at in my life. When it’s time for me to go home, I know where I’m going. I’ve got complete peace with that. And because of that peace, I can look at the world around me and say, “I’ll do my part.”

Now don’t get me wrong—I’m not in a hurry. There are still shows I want to do. Places I want to go. Fish I still want to catch. But when that time comes—and it will come for all of us—I trust what’s written. Whether we’re living in that time or not, there sure are a lot of signs pointing in that direction.

If you want hope in your life—real, lasting hope—get into this book. It’s life-changing. Not just for you, but for your home, your family, and every life you touch. It’s the real deal.

I honestly don’t know how anyone who’s read it cover to cover can question it as the inspired Word of God. When you do, you can’t help but say, “Wow.” And when you start to see today’s headlines lining up with words written thousands of years ago, it makes you stop and think.

See you on the water.

  1. Al, that message today about the book of truth was a great call to the alder. I’ve come to know the truth of this short life now and see how I was so blessed in many ways to be able to do what I loved most for 20 years. You made a differance in my life and business. Thank you so much for your blessings in my life. My son Jeff has been doing it now for over 20 years . Thanks again and God bless you . You reach so many. 🙏👍

  2. Al,
I have been a fan of you and In-Fisherman magazine for years. I actually had my picture with my master angler steelhead published in your magazine about 20 years ago. What an honor!

I watch your show on Sunday mornings (before church) and my wife makes a point of tuning in to your message at the end of the show. Thanks for doing those.

As parents who recently lost their eldest son (30 years old) to cancer, your message on hope really hit home. I’m not sure how people without faith get through some of life’s struggles and losses. For us it’s all about hope! And the knowledge we will see our beloved son again.

Some ask the question: why does God allow Christians to get cancer? Answer? So people can see the difference. Our son Mitch lived out his last days, weeks, and months showing the people the difference. He never complained and pointed a lot of people to Jesus during his time in the hospital. The hope he had in Jesus showed brightly.

Thanks again for all you do to be the light for Jesus.
