A Life-Changing Retreat

A Life-Changing Retreat

Many years ago, shortly after the word of God became real to me and I started to delve into it on a regular basis, I attended a retreat in Canada. This retreat was attended by a group of men, all fishermen, who came together for a weekend of fellowship and spiritual growth. Throughout the retreat, various speakers shared their personal stories of faith and the impact it had on their lives.

The Challenge That Stuck

One particular speaker, a pastor from a small church in Canada, posed a question that would forever stay with me. He asked, “Is anybody going to heaven because of you?” These words resonated deeply within me and immediately moved from my head to my heart. It was a powerful moment that I will never forget. The speaker’s challenge made me realize the significance of my faith and the impact it could have on others.

Glorifying God and Being a Blessing

Since that retreat, I have been driven to glorify God in all aspects of my life, including my work. I believe that the talents and blessings I have received are meant to be shared with others. I strive to be a blessing to those who believe in the word and to those who are searching for spiritual growth.

Growing in Body, Mind, and Spirit

I am passionate about helping others grow in their spiritual life, body, mind, and spirit. I believe that true growth comes from aligning all aspects of our being with God’s will. When we become more active in our faith, we experience a deeper connection with God and a greater sense of purpose.

Sharing the Gospel

One of the greatest privileges I have is the opportunity to share the gospel. The truth that Jesus died for our sins, rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father is the foundation of the Bible. It is through a confession of faith in Him as Lord and Savior that the gates of heaven are opened. This truth transcends denominations and religious affiliations. It is a simple yet profound message that has the power to transform lives.

Planting a Seed

The question posed at that retreat, “Is anybody going to heaven because of you?” planted a seed in my heart. It serves as a constant reminder of the impact I can have on others through my words and actions. I wrote it down and placed it at the beginning of my Bible, where it serves as a daily reminder of my purpose.
In conclusion, the retreat experience and the challenge presented by the speaker had a profound impact on Al Lindner’s life. It inspired him to glorify God in all aspects of his work and to be a blessing to others. He is passionate about helping others grow in their spiritual life and sharing the gospel. The question, “Is anybody going to heaven because of you?” serves as a constant reminder of the impact he can have on others. It is a powerful message that has shaped the way he approaches his work and life.
As we reflect on Al Lindner’s story, let us also consider the impact we can have on those around us. Are we living in a way that reflects our faith and points others towards God? Are we being a blessing to those who believe and those who are searching? These are important questions to ponder as we strive to make a difference in the lives of others.

Remember, it is not about denominations or religious affiliations. The foundation of the Bible is the truth that Jesus died for our sins, rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. A confession of faith in Him as Lord and Savior opens the gates of heaven. This truth is simple yet profound, and it has the power to transform lives.

Let us take the challenge presented at that retreat to heart. Let us strive to be a light in this world, sharing the love and truth of Jesus with those around us. May we plant seeds of faith and be a catalyst for others to experience the life-changing power of a relationship with God.

In closing, let us remember the words of Al Lindner, “Is anybody going to heaven because of you?” This question serves as a reminder of the impact we can have on others and the importance of living a life that reflects our faith. May we all strive to be a blessing and make a difference in the lives of those around us.
