Little Older, Little Wiser
The Word of God says wisdom comes with age. I’m getting a little older, a little wiser, and during that natural progression, I’ve learned to be more sensitive than ever through experiences that I’ll call “A gut feeling.”
A feeling that is telling me that something isn’t right.
Most humans seem to have this instinct. It may be a feeling that says don’t go here. Or you’re already there, and the gut feeling is telling you to leave here now. I know you know what I’m talking about.
As you get wiser, you become more and more sensitive. The word of God says the Spirit of God will talk to you. The Bible calls them the Holy Spirit to protect you from yourself from doing dumb things.
Recently, we had an opportunity to get into a business adventure with a guy on a product. Admittedly, it was a pretty exciting product, and it looked like it was going to work.
However, from day one, my gut told me that something wasn’t right. As time went on, the partnership became more laborsome, more intense, more demanding, and it became increasingly more evident that this wasn’t going to work.
It cost us some money, but what impacted me is that it cost a friend of ours some money he put into the venture.
The next time you get that feeling, don’t act, don’t jump —pray. When you get that feeling — I don’t care how good it looks — don’t do it. Words of wisdom from an older man that’s been around for a little while. —Al
